Home / Services / HL7 & FHIR Integration
Connect your EHR, scheduling and billing systems without a rip-and-replace.
When clinical and business systems don't talk to each other, your staff become the interface: re-keying demographics, reconciling charges, chasing results between screens. We build HL7 v2 and FHIR R4 integration layers that move that data automatically, between the systems you already run.
What we usually find
- Patient demographics entered twice: once at scheduling, again in the EHR or billing system
- Charges and encounters reconciled by hand because billing doesn't receive what the clinical system knows
- Lab and imaging results arriving as faxes or PDFs that someone has to file manually
- A legacy interface nobody fully understands, failing quietly with no alerting
- A new vendor or payer asking for a FHIR API the current systems don't offer
What we build
HL7 v2 message interfaces
ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU and DFT feeds between EHR, practice management, lab and billing systems. Parsing, mapping, validation and acknowledgment handling done properly, including the site-specific quirks every real HL7 feed has.
FHIR R4 APIs
A FHIR layer in front of systems that don't have one, so new applications, patient-facing tools and partners can read and write the data they need through a modern, standards-based API.
Interface monitoring
Queue depth, failed messages and stalled feeds surfaced before a clinician notices. Clear error logs that point to the field and the message, not just "interface down."
Data reconciliation
Scheduled comparisons between systems that catch the records that didn't make it across, so mismatches are fixed in days, not discovered at month-end.
Formats and standards
How an engagement runs
Free assessment call
We talk through what's broken, what's manual, and what the systems need to do.
System review
We look at the real system, data and files, so the plan matches what's actually there.
Build beside production
We build and test alongside your live system. Your team keeps working.
Validate and support
We run in parallel, reconcile, cut over when the numbers match, and stay on for support.
Common questions
Do we need to replace our EHR to fix integration problems?
Usually not. Most integration problems come from the gaps between systems, not the systems themselves. An integration layer that moves data between your EHR, scheduling, billing and lab platforms addresses the re-keying and reconciliation work directly, at a fraction of the cost and risk of a replacement.
How do you handle patient data security?
Integration layers we build encrypt data in transit, log who and what accessed each record, and move only the fields each downstream system needs. We work inside your existing security and compliance requirements and document what we build so your compliance team can review it.
Can you work with our existing interface engine?
Yes. If you already run an interface engine, we can build and maintain interfaces inside it. If you don't, we build lightweight integration services that do the same job without adding another platform to license and maintain.
