Home / Services / EDI & Flat-File Automation
Stop babysitting file transfers. Automate the EDI and flat files your business runs on.
Purchase orders, invoices, ship notices, price files and inventory feeds still move between companies as EDI documents, flat files and CSV exports. When that exchange depends on someone downloading, fixing and re-uploading files, it breaks whenever that person is out. We automate the whole path, from pickup to validation to your ERP.
What we usually find
- Orders arriving by EDI or email attachment and keyed into the ERP by hand
- A nightly export that fails silently, discovered when a customer calls about a missing shipment
- Each trading partner sending a slightly different file format, handled with a different spreadsheet
- Chargebacks for late or incorrect ship notices because the ASN is built manually
- Scripts written years ago by someone who has left, running on a server nobody wants to touch
What we build
EDI document processing
X12 transactions such as 850 purchase orders, 810 invoices, 856 ship notices and 997 acknowledgments, translated to and from your ERP's format with validation against each partner's requirements.
Flat-file and CSV pipelines
Scheduled pickup from SFTP, email or shared folders. Format normalization, field mapping, duplicate detection and validation rules before anything reaches your ERP.
Error alerting and exception queues
When a file is late, malformed or rejected, the right person gets a clear message saying which file, which record and what's wrong, instead of finding out from a customer.
Partner onboarding
A repeatable mapping approach so adding a new customer or vendor is a configuration task, not a new custom script.

We look at the real system, data and files, so the plan matches what's actually there.
Build beside production
We build and test alongside your live system. Your team keeps working.
Validate and support
We run in parallel, reconcile, cut over when the numbers match, and stay on for support.
Common questions
Do we need a new EDI platform?
Not necessarily. Many distributors and manufacturers can automate their existing EDI and file exchanges with an integration layer around their current ERP and translation setup. If a dedicated EDI platform is the better fit, we'll say so and explain why.
Our ERP is old. Can it still receive automated orders?
Almost always. If your ERP can import a file or accept data into a staging table, we can build the pipeline that prepares clean, validated data for it. Older systems such as AS400, Eclipse, Epicor and Oracle E-Business Suite all have workable import paths.
What happens when a trading partner changes their file format?
Mappings are kept as configuration rather than buried in code, and validation catches format changes the first time they appear. A partner change becomes a mapping update, with the bad file held in an exception queue instead of loaded into your ERP.
